Located in Hockley, Texas, northwest of Houston, our residential campus serves boys and girls ages 5–18, along with young adults in our College & Career Program.

We are seeking a Skilled Maintenance Team Member to help maintain a safe, beautiful, and welcoming campus where children and families can thrive.

Position Overview

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week hourly position that may require availability Monday through Sunday, including occasional shared after-hours emergency response.

The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and skilled in a variety of maintenance trades.

Qualified candidates should:

• Be self-motivated and willing to learn new skills
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
• Possess sound decision-making abilities
• Work well independently and as part of a team
• Support and reflect the mission and values of Boys & Girls Country
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, dependability, and strong communication skills

Responsibilities Include:

Campus & Facility Maintenance

• Maintain the appearance and aesthetics of Boys & Girls Country properties
• Perform maintenance and repair needs across campus facilities
• Complete maintenance requests in a timely, cost-effective, and quality manner
• Maintain roofs, gutters, exterior structures, and grounds
• Maintain sprinkler and irrigation systems
• Assist with tree trimming and general property upkeep

Skilled Trades & Operations Support

• Perform work involving:
  • Electrical systems
  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry
  • General building repairs
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
• Perform preventative and minor equipment maintenance
• Maintain repair inventory and communicate purchasing needs
• Pick up parts and materials as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized Operations Center
• Respond to shared after-hours emergency calls when needed
• Assist with pickup and transport of donated goods
• Work collaboratively with the Director of Operations and staff to support campus needs
• Follow all safety procedures and use required protective equipment
