JOB DESCRIPTION: Middle School Volleyball Coach
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Job summary: The Junior High Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading and developing their assigned team in a manner that reflects the mission, values, and Christian worldview of Rosehill Christian School. This coach will work closely with the Athletic Department to cultivate a program that emphasizes excellence, encouragement, unity, and Christ-like character.

Type of position: This is a stipend-only position for the volleyball season, beginning in late summer and continuing through the fall semester. Previous coaching experience is not required; however, volleyball playing and/or coaching experience is preferred.
SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION
Job summary: Rosehill Christian School seeks a coach who views athletics as a platform for discipleship and character formation. The ideal candidate will intentionally invest in the spiritual growth of student-athletes, build meaningful relationships, and reinforce values such as discipline, teamwork, respect, and perseverance. Coaches are expected to support the holistic development of students—mind, body, and spirit—while fostering a positive and God-honoring team culture. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to collaborate within the Athletic Department, maintain schedule availability for practices and games, and support the broader school community. All coaches are expected to uphold the mission, values, and policies of Rosehill Christian School.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
? Planning and leading practices and game-day preparation
? Teaching and developing fundamental volleyball skills, including serving, passing, setting, hitting, and team systems
? Organizing and leading team drills, skill development, and conditioning
? Accompanying the team to games and related events
? Mentoring student-athletes spiritually, academically, and athletically
? Modeling servant leadership, integrity, and sportsmanship consistent with a biblical worldview
QUALIFICATIONS: The Coach shall ...
? have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
? Previous coaching experience is not required; however, volleyball experience is preferred.
? have the leadership abilities to "train up a child in the way he should go.”
? shall be a member in good standing of an evangelical church.
? shall lead a mature Christian life.
? shall reflect the purpose of the school to honor Christ in every class and every activity.
? have a call to teach in a Christian school and at RCS in particular.
? demonstrate a reasonable level of computer literacy, having a basic proficiency in word processing, creating and using a spreadsheet, e-mailing, and accessing the Internet.
? possess evidence of adequate preparation, background, and/or experience as determined by the Athletic Director and Head of School.
? be willing to continue formal and informal professional development while employed.
? lead a lifestyle compatible with RCS standards and policies.
? exhibit such other qualifications as may additionally be required by the Board.
