Tomball Art League Announces Highly Anticipated Spring Art Show April 23-25, Featuring A Wide Variety Of Work By Members, Local Artists And Students

Tomball, TX -

    The Tomball Art League (TAL), a 90-plus member organization, will hold their spring art show April 23, 24 and 25 at the Lone Star College Tomball Community Library, 30555 Tomball Parkway.  Registration can be completed online before April 15 at www.TomballArtLeague.org .

    Entry fees are $9 for TAL members; $12   for members of other guilds; $15 for non-members; and $2 for students in grades K-12.  

    The show will open to the public Friday, April 24, from 12 noon to 6 pm, and again on Saturday, April 25 from 10 am-3:30 pm.  All art must be picked up on Saturday from 3:30-5 p.m. 

    Judging will take place on Friday, April 24 from 9 am to 12 noon, and is closed to artists and the public.  Each category will be awarded 1st through 3rd place plus an Honorable Mention.  A Cash award of $100 will be given for Best of Show, $50 GC Student Best of Show and a $50 TAL Choice Award voted on by members.

    “TAL is dedicated to encouraging local artists to develop their talents, including students in kindergarten through high school, public and private schools and home-

schooled students,” said CJ Foster. “Our Members work in a variety of media, including watercolor, ink, oil, chalk, photography and sculpture.”  

    The group is especially proud of their community outreach, including Creating With Blind Abandon, which supports artwork created by the visually impaired.  In addition, the U.S Vets of Houston will also have a selection of art for show and sale.

    TAL also recently completed a series of murals depicting important moments in Tomball’s history, which are prominently displayed on downtown buildings.  

    Local businesses also provide space for artists to display their works, including sculptures, woodworking and outdoor art.
