Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum Teaches Yoga at Early Excellence Academy
Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum (CWJF) recently taught yoga to almost 200 children at Tomball’s Early Excellence Academy (EEA). The focus was controlling behavior through yoga moves and breathing.
CWJF has developed a partnership with this unique PreK Center in Tomball ISD that caters to students who meet specific state qualifications in an effort to give these students a jump start in preparing them for elementary school.
“The kids enjoyed learning fun ways to handle their emotions, along with the physical movement,” said Pre-K Teacher Sarah Wade. “This can be a difficult area to address but by teaching control through play and fun moves, it becomes much easier for these young students to understand and find success.”
While CWJF is committed to everyone in the community, from reading programs at schools, recognizing our veterans, and engaging with our seniors through our various Signature Programs, EEA has a special place in the heart of CWJF as we have partnered with the school from its very beginning.
Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum is an organization of women dedicated to providing volunteer services, leadership and philanthropy to enrich the communities in North Harris and South Montgomery Counties. CWJF partners with agencies, schools, and corporations to fulfill identified needs in education, interaction with an aging population and support for people with disabilities.
