Seminar: ''The New Texas Business Tax and What it Means to You''
Seminars are sponsored by the North Harris Montgomery Community College District Small Business Development Center at each of the district's five colleges to the impact of a new Texas Franchise tax going into effect on January 1, 2008.
The seminars will feature presentations from Mark Scimemi of UHY Advisors and Amanda Trapp of Stibbs and Co., P.C. The topics discussed will include the new definition of taxable entities under the tax, how to calculate the tax, applicable deductions, new reporting requirements, and industry specific provisions for retailers/wholesalers, manufacturers, restaurants, attorneys, medical professionals and staff leasing companies.
