BOOKS ON THE BAYOU
This year?s selection for the Books on the Bayou is Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, the story of ?Janie Crawford, a Southern Black woman in the 1930's, journeys from being a free-spirited girl to a woman of independence and substance.". The Books on the Bayou is a community-wide effort designed to encourage reading of the same book at the same time and is meant to inspire reading and thoughtful discussion among Houstonians. Our branch will be having a small group discussion of the book led by one of the Lone Star College - Tomball staff.
