Be Tomball Ready Monthly Lunch Presentation
BTR is a subcommittee of the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce and the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), and is dedicated to helping businesses and individuals prepare for, survive, and recover from all kinds of emergencies and disasters. “Unfortunately, these events usually don’t give us much notice, so being prepared often means the difference between losing your personal property or business, and being able to survive such an event,” said Ott.
Previous BTR Meetings are held the 3rd Thursday monthly and are free and open to the public. Mike Ott, Committee Chair, encourages interested citizens to “bring lunch or purchase a meal from the TRMC Cafeteria, and join us to learn about a variety of personal and public safety topics.”
programs include FBI presentations on cyber-crime, internet security, prevention of identity theft, personal safety, business crime, strategies for reducing online banking risk, Red Cross information, recovery case studies from a business disaster expert, a representative from the Virus Doctor, a panel of computer experts, presentations by the Harris County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and representatives from the Tomball Regional Medical Center, Tomball Fire and Police Departments, Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Constables Office.
