Tidy Up Tomball’s Spring Cleanup Sets New Record With 7,000 Pounds of Trash Collected

TOMBALL, TX – Tidy Up Tomball’s annual spring community cleanup on April 12, 2025, was a massive success, thanks to nearly 300 volunteers who came together under clear blue skies for a shared mission: to make Tomball cleaner place to live, work, and play. Volunteers collected an impressive 7,000 pounds of litter across 47 cleanup routes throughout the city—the largest haul to date. The total included 241 trash bags and a variety of larger debris, including old shopping carts and even a discarded vacuum cleaner.

During the event, Tidy Up Tomball proudly presented the Keep Texas Beautiful® road sign to the City of Tomball. Keep Texas Beautiful® (KTB) is a statewide nonprofit that equips communities with resources to promote environmental awareness, litter prevention, and community improvement. As an official affiliate, Tomball joins a network of cities striving to protect and enhance the natural beauty of Texas. This designation reflects the city’s strong volunteer spirit and continued commitment to a cleaner tomorrow.

“The sense of pride people felt after volunteering was incredible,” said Amanda Trickey, President of Tidy Up Tomball. “Several first-time participants told us this event inspired them to get more involved in other volunteer efforts around the city. I especially enjoy reading student reflections submitted for volunteer hours—many shared how the event opened their eyes to the importance of keeping their surroundings clean.”

Feedback from families also poured in, highlighting the event’s inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. One volunteer shared, “We love how family-friendly the event is. Our kids are young, but this has been such a fun experience for us to do together. Thank you!”
