He is a Life Endowment Member of the NRA, a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the cold war. He volunteered in the official U.S. Air Force Auxillary Civil Air Patrol where he served in command, public relations, emergency services, and youth education capacities, and earned the rank of Lt.
