Kinsmen Lutheran Church will host a free workshop, “Surviving the College Search,” on September 18 for high school students and their parents. Presented by Virginia L. Blackwell, who has more than 30 years of experience in the field of college admissions, this informative seminar will help families prepare for college fairs, think through the college application process, and plan for standardized tests. Virginia will be joined by her associate, Bethany Scott, who is a former University of Texas admissions officer. The workshop is open to the community and will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, at Kinsmen Lutheran Church, 12100 Champion Forest Drive in Houston, 77066. Admission is free, but registration is requested at www.kinsmenlutheran.org.
