Celebration of Dance 2022 features the well-known Les Sylphides, a non-narrative reverie ballet, set to the music of Frederic Chopin; Flower Festival by August Bournonville, a springtime classical ballet in the Danish style; Pressed, a modern piece choreographed by JoDee Engle, which poses the question “Which the unceasing pressures that continuously surround us, is it possible to stay true to our authentic selves?”; Riviera Holiday, an original ballet by Kristy Nilsson, about a Jazz Age vacation, filled with fun, sun and romance. Inspired by Bronislava Nijinska’s Le Train Bleu. Celebration of Dance is funded in part by grants from the City of Tomball and Texas Commission on the Arts, with additional support provided by Air Innovations, LLC; David Metcalfe Photography; Dentist at Rock Creek; Fancy Dancer; Kluge Tennis Center; and Lakewood Montessori.
