Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is presenting the initial master plan design concept for Galveston Island State Park (GISP) and will provide an update on how public input was utilized and included. TPWD is developing a new master plan and vision for GISP to provide the guiding framework for its rebirth after being severely damaged by Hurricane Ike.
At this meeting, members of the community will have the opportunity to view aerial maps and preliminary design concepts for the master planning effort. The objective will be to collect public input on the preliminary design concept being considered. All local residents, business owners, civic groups, schools and universities, recreational groups, and anyone else with an interest in the future of Galveston Island State Park is invited to attend.
