The 2.3 mile project stretches from  FM 2920 to the Montgomery County Line.  The project replaces the former two lane asphalt roadway with a four lane concrete roadway\, a center turn lane\, bike route and overpass over Huffsmith-Kuykendahl.  \n\n \n\nThe $18.5 million construction contract was awarded to Smith and Co. and began in October 2009.  Over a third of the funding came from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). \n\n \n\nMedia representatives interested in covering the ribbon cutting celebration are encouraged to contact the TxDOT Public Information Office at (713) 802-5076.
