SUMMARY:National Night Out
DESCRIPTION:The National Association of Town Watch (NATW) has announced that the "28th Annual National Night Out (NNO) program will be held on Tuesday\, August 2\, 2011.  National Night Out 2010 involved 37 million people in 15\,110 communities from all 50 states\, U.S. territories\, Canadian cities\, and military bases worldwide.\n\n \n\nNational Night Out is sponsored by NATW (in partnership with Target)\, with the goals of (1) Heighten crime prevention awareness\; (2) Generating support/participation in local crime abatement efforts\, (3) Strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships\; and (4) Sending a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.  In addition to traditional porch light vigils\, most cities and towns now celebrate NNO with a variety of citywide and neighborhood events.\n\n \n\nCommunity members are invited to join Tomball First Responders at a free event held on August 2ndfrom 6pm-9pm.  The Tomball Police Department\, Tomball Fire Department\, Northwest EMS\, and Tomball Public Works\, will have bounce houses\, fire trucks\, ambulances\, police cars\, and other large equipment/special use vehicles on display.\n\n \n\nTarget Representatives and area businesses will set up displays affording them an opportunity to support the community\, promote their businesses\, and recruiting future employees.  Each business will be provided space for their display.\n\n \n\nTarget will be providing hotdogs for all in attendance\, and everyone is invited to come watch as Target employees and TPD Explorers complete an artistic mural of the NNO logo in the middle of The Depot.  Additionally\, the event will include: Mayor's Proclamation\; Candle Light Vigil\, and Push Up Contest.\n\n \n\nIf your business would like to participate in the NNO Event please complete the registration packet available on the Tomball Police Department website\, at www.tomballpd.com
