DESCRIPTION:Lone Star College System holds Academy for Lifelong Learning open houses\n\n \n\nHOUSTON (Jan. 7\, 2014)   Lone Star College System is hosting open house events at its campuses for the Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL)\, a membership program geared toward adults age 50-plus interested in broadening their horizons with others in a learning environment.\n\n \n\nALL offers more than 600 classes scheduled for this spring covering a vast array of interests: arts and crafts\, gardening skills\, photography techniques\, health and wellness\, technology\, genealogy\, Tai Chi\, yoga\, literary discussion groups\, and many more.\n\n \n\n"This is a wonderful opportunity for those interested in attending lectures\, seminars or discussions\," said Pat Chandler\, system program manager for ALL. "Our classes are short-term\, non-credit\, and last anywhere from a few hours to several weeks and explore technology\, health and wellness\, financial planning\, community service projects\, literary discussion groups\, genealogy\, arts and crafts\, an insider's view of Texas history\, and more."\n\n \n\nThe annual membership fee of $20 ($35 at LSC-Montgomery) allows a person to take all the classes they are interested in at his/her campus\, said Chandler.\n\n \n\n"If anyone is interested in taking classes at more than one campus\, a $55 annual global membership allows individuals to participate in ALL programs at any LSC location where a class is offered\," said Chandler.\n\nThe open house events take place all this month and allow visitors to learn more about scheduled classes.
