Civ. Prac. & Rem. Code Ann.) and the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable Standards. Lone Star College System is an approved CE provider for several professions\, including State Bar of Texas.\n\n\n\nYou will learn:\n\nAccording to Hill\, the training is highly interactive. "You will learn about how to become a mediator. "Mediators are professionals who provide an impartial third-party view to disputes that range from legal settlements to political arguments. They work outside the court system to help parties reach an agreement. You will increase proficiency in the area of effective communication\, including\, listening skills\, negotiation\, and conflict resolution. During the role-play of vignettes\, you will gain a greater perspective on your conflict resolution style. Completing the 40-hour Basic Mediation course\, volunteering as a mediator\, beginning the credential process with Texas Mediation Credentialing Association\, and networking are steps to a career as a mediator."
