DESCRIPTION:TOMBALL\, Texas The Lone Star College-Tomball theatre department has announced the works to be produced during its 2011-2012 season. Dubbed "Americana\," the selected plays\, including the Summer 2012 musical\, were chosen purposefully to highlight the best of American drama. This season will also mark the debut of the theater program on the stage of the LSC-Tomball Performing Arts Center.  \n\n\n\n\n\nThe season opens in October with Rumors by Neil Simon. A classic farce\, this play is set in a beautiful townhouse where the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. With his wife nowhere in sight\, his lawyer must get "the story" straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusion and miscommunication mount\, the comedy abounds. Thisproduction will be performed October 27-29 at 7:30 p.m.\, in the Performing Arts Center. \n\nNext on the calendar will be All My Sons by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Arthur Miller. Set after World War II\, this play tells the sad story of the Kellers\, a seemingly all-American family whose patriarch has framed his business partner for a crime. As his son prepares to marry the partner's daughter\, the truth threatens to make itself known. This intense study of denial\, the past\, and the American Dream is electric and riveting.  Also in the Performing Arts Center\, All My Sons will run February 23-25\, 2012\, 7:30 p.m.\n\nThe annual Night of Short Plays will be held in the Black Box Theater April 19-22\, 2012. Including plays written\, produced\, and directed by students\, this showcase of creativity always manages to present material that is refreshing and unexpected.\n\n\n	The 2012 summer musical\, Fiddler On The Roof\, will run on the main stage in the Performing Arts Center July 12-14\, 2012. In the little village of Anatevka\, Tevye\, a poor dairyman\, tries to instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia.
